Project Background
kaKanin+ was developed under the project Food Product Development and Innovation in Rice and Other Crops. The initiative focuses on the inventory, documentation, and mapping of rice-based food products (RBFPs) in different regions of the country.
Through field surveys, key informant interviews, and documentation of traditional food processing practices, the project gathers valuable information on the diversity, cultural context, and local production of these products. The platform serves as a centralized system for organizing and sharing this information with researchers, institutions, and the wider public.

- Generate baseline information that supports food science, technology, and policy initiatives

Our Goal
kaKanin+ aims to make knowledge about Filipino rice-based foods more accessible while supporting research, product development, and the preservation of culinary heritage. By highlighting regional diversity and traditional practices, the platform also emphasizes the role of rice in Filipino culture and local livelihoods.
